When I was sitting in the theatre room of “Studio Pasila” in Helsinki and watched the characters from our text come alive I felt a little bit of pride. There they were standing: Alva, Arnold, Alexander and the others. Until this very moment they only were letters on my pcs desktop. But back then I realised what a great feeling it is to see the work, time and ideas you invested come into an physical form. Just imagine that something you have thought of is suddenly standing before you and is behaving like you thought it would. It is a feeling of creating or maybe giving birth to something. Just like a child of yours which has grown in a text.
But not only the characters from the play turned into physical bodies. The other persons which just became real were the writers from Helsinki. And I liked how they turned out too. A couple of nice finnish girls!
It was very interesting to meet these young people from another country with whom you worked for several months. It also proved to me once again that it doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from, there always are great persons. You just have to find them. Luckily this project helped us with that.

Helsinki was a nice place. Sometimes it reminded me of Berlin a little bit. In terms of atmosphere and architecture. I stayed for a week and could have stayed even longer if there wasn’t the flight back to Berlin. In this week I really started to like the city and its people who were all so nice to us.
We had a good time with everyone from the project. I think it was because we all shared the interest in writing. It is not so easy to meet that kind of persons and so many of them in such a short time, not even at your home. Apart from writing the play this was the most important thing in this project to me. Meeting people with whom you have something in common.
I will definitely come back to Helsinki somewhere in the future. Maybe even for another project. Who knows?
