Wild at Heart – A Collection of Modern Finnish Design and Art is a colourful exhibition complex curated by Tero Kuitunen, which offers a look into the exciting world of Finnish design today. The name of the exhibition alludes to a perhaps lesser-known side of the Finnish soul: that underneath a shy, reserved surface pulses wild humour, exuberance and passion.

The eleven designers in Wild at Heart deftly move at the intersection of art and design. They work boldly with new materials and don’t hesitate to try new things. The exhibition is divided into three units: Raw Beauty focuses on materials and a clear visual language, Social Impact explores how design can influence and change society, while Wild Humour reflects the “wild” and playful side of Finnish design. Works by Eero Aarnio, COMPANY Aamu Song & Johan Olin, Klaus Haapaniemi, Antrei Hartikainen, Tuuli-Tytti Koivula, Tero Kuitunen, Mifuko, Sofia Okkonen, Teemu Salonen and Milla Vaahtera can be seen.

The exhibition was initiated by the Finnish Institute in Germany for the Vienna Design Week 2019 and realized with the Finnish Institutes in Budapest, Stockholm and Japan. It will tour the world in cooperation with local partners in the years 2019−2020:
