Due to the current exceptional circumstances, the Finnish Institute in Germany will be closed to the public through 1 June 2020. You can still reach us via phone from Monday through Friday (except on public holidays and Friday 22 May) from 11am to 3pm as well as on our digital channels.
We would also like to invite you to use our updated online programme!
– On Instagram, you can find a series of reading tips for books by authors Rosa Liksom, Pauliina Susi, and Tuutikki Tolonen. We are also starting a series interviewing the Visiting Artists at the Finnish Institute 2015-2020: Ville Kylätasku, Anna Retulainen, Anni Leppälä, Niina Lehtonen Braun, and Markus Jäntti-Tuominen. And if you are interested in the tips from the „Team Finstitut in home office“, you can check out our Instagram stories with the same name. All of our Instagram content is in English!
– Studying and internship consultation: our intern Janne Airaksinen offers students in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland online consultation meetings about studying and doing internships in Finland. You can book a meeting at studium@finstitut.de. A webinar to this topic is also in preparation. You can also download the updated brochure “Studium und Praktikum in Finnland” (in German).
– The planned presentation Das Einhorn – Die Geschichte eines ambivalenten Fabelwesens by Lena van Beek on 4 June will be presented as video streaming. The presentation is connected to the works by our Visiting Artist 2020, Markus Jäntti-Tuominen.
– Due to the current extraordinary circumstances, the Finnish Cultural and Academic Institutes have launched a new open call “Together Alone”. The selected projects will take form in spring/summer 2020.
